The Volta Region stretches from the coast at Aflao and Keta up through Ho and Hohoe to the hills around Amedzofe and Wli-Afegame, and the places to stay here are as varied as the landscape. On the coast you can sleep beside the Atlantic at Eli Beach Resort in Tegbi, Agblor Lodge in Keta, or Ashiata Ocean View Hotel, or pitch a tent at Emancipation Beach Camp behind Fort Prinzenstein. Inland, Waterfall Lodge and Big Foot Safari Lodge sit close to the Wli (Agumatsa) Waterfalls, while Biakpa Mountain Paradise Lodge and Abraerica Hospitalities and Tour in Amedzofe serve walkers in the Avatime and Ho West hills.

What they share is a strong sense of place: rivers, lagoons, waterfalls and viewpoints rather than city streets. They differ widely in style and scale. Plan around how you will move: the Tema–Aflao Road links Sogakope, Ho and the coast, while Wli-Afegame, Biakpa and Amedzofe are reached by smaller roads, so allow generous time. Many of these places are small and family-run, and some have no verified website, published rates or opening hours, so contact them directly before travelling to confirm rooms, meals and current facilities. Ask about the season, since coastal and waterfall areas are best enjoyed in dry weather. Bring cash, sun protection and mosquito repellent, and arrange onward transport in advance if you are arriving late.
