The Eastern Region's islands sit where the Volta River widens into Lake Volta, and they offer some of Ghana's easiest water escapes. Dodi Island is an inhabited island reached by a roughly two-hour cruise boat trip from Akosombo, and it is a fine introduction to community life on the lake.
