About Anomabo Beach

Anomabo Beach is an Atlantic Ocean beach at Anomabo (also written Anomabu), a coastal town in the Mfantsiman Municipal District of Ghana's Central Region. The town sits on the Accra–Cape Coast coastal road roughly 115 to 116 km west of Accra, and the beach lies along the same shoreline.

The most detailed public description of the beach itself comes from a community kite-surfing spot listing, which describes a wide, sandy beach with medium waves and beach breaks, occasional rocks in the water, and trees on the beach. The same listing reports that the spot is used by intermediate and expert kite and wave riders, that wind usually comes from the west and is not very strong, and that the tropical climate means no wetsuit is needed year-round. It also notes shower, toilet and food facilities at the spot, and mentions camping under the palm trees. These are community-reported details rather than an official facility list.

Anomabo Beach Resort, an operator on the same shoreline, publishes beachfront and family huts, an outdoor restaurant, volleyball, canoe riding, cultural dancing, games, weddings and conference packages, and states it is on the Central Region coastline 116 km west of Ghana's capital. Room rates are published on its site. The resort's contact details are phone +233 24 433 1731 and email [email protected], with an address on the Accra–Cape Coast Road.

The wider town is described in a travel guide as a coastal town known for its historic slave fort, Fort William, and a vibrant fishing community along the Atlantic shore, with Anomabu Beach listed among popular local attractions. That guide also names Fort Sebastian and the Anomabu Slave Market among local sites.

Practical planning is limited by what has been published. Access is by car: from Accra, take the coastal road west about 115 km to Anomabo, then follow signs to Anomabo Beach. No public authority source describing the beach was found, no fee or opening hours are published for the beach itself, and no coordinates are confirmed.
