About West African Football Academy (WAFA) SC Stadium
WAFA Park is the training campus and home ground of West African Football Academy Sporting Club (WAFA), a Ghanaian professional football club that competes in the Ghana Premier League. The academy took its current form in August 2014, when Feyenoord Academy — founded in 1999 at Gomoa Fetteh — merged with Red Bull Ghana, and the club relocated to the former Red Bull Academy site near Sogakope in the Volta Region.
The campus sits on nine hectares at Fievie, near Sogakope in the South Tongu District, roughly a one-and-a-half-hour drive from Accra. Its facilities include a stadium, training pitches, educational facilities, a restaurant, a gym, a physiotherapy treatment facility, a swimming pool, a guest house, player dormitories and staff apartments. The stadium pitch is artificial turf, measuring 105m by 68m.
For a visitor, the main draw is football: this is a working academy and club ground rather than a conventional tourist attraction, and its interest lies in seeing where a Ghanaian professional club trains and educates its players. The academy houses and educates up to 100 students and runs three age-group teams, covering ages 13–15, 15–17 and 17–20, combining daily football training with formal education in English, French, Mathematics, Science and ICT. On the pitch, the club's best-known season was 2016–17, when WAFA finished second in the Ghana Premier League.
Practical planning is limited by what is publicly documented. The stadium's seating capacity is reported inconsistently: the club's own site states 2,500 seats, while Transfermarkt and Wikipedia give 1,000 and TheClubIndex around 2,000. No official opening hours, ticket prices or matchday arrangements were verified, and no official email or direct stadium telephone number was confirmed. A ticket inquiry number, +233-549353476, appears on a third-party travel listing for the academy, with the address given simply as Sogakope, Ghana.
The coordinates recorded for the stadium are feature-level figures from a Wikipedia infobox, not a verified visitor entrance, so they should be treated as approximate. Anyone planning a visit should confirm access, match schedules and entry arrangements directly with the club before travelling.
