Harbour View Gardens

Harbour View Gardens is a public garden and leisure spot in Takoradi, in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Area of Ghana's Western Region. It sits on elevated ground in the Harbour Area, overlooking Takoradi Port, and is listed at J. De Graft-Johnson Avenue in the Harbour Business Area.

The garden's defining feature is its outlook over the working port. A Daily Graphic feature describes a picturesque view of the whole of Takoradi Port, with garden benches placed for watching the lighted harbour, berthed ships and trains delivering materials for export. At the entrance to the gardens stands a statue honouring soldiers who lost their lives in the two world wars — a reminder that the site carries a commemorative as well as a recreational role.

The place has a layered history. It was historically associated with the Harbour View Hotel, which had a night club and restaurant; the hotel closed and its building was converted into offices for shipping agencies. Eric Ato Arhin, the current owner, took over from his parents in 2010 and has sought to expand the garden.

Today the site operates as a bar and restaurant with a garden, outdoor seating and harbour views. Its own social media describes it as a bar and restaurant overlooking the Takoradi harbour where visitors can relax, eat, drink and enjoy the view, and notes that it caters for parties and weddings; its Instagram page highlights restaurant, events, night view and gardens.
