About Aflabo Waterfall
Aflabo Waterfall, also written Aflabo Falls, is a waterfall behind the village of Leklebi Agbesia in the Afadzato South District of the Volta Region. Leklebi Agbesia is one of six towns in the Leklebi traditional area, and the village itself is described as relaxed and friendly. The falls sit on the Amedzofe–Afegame route and are reachable by vehicle or on foot.
The walk in is the main practical consideration. The Volta Tourist Highlights guide puts the hike at under one hour along the stream. A separate account describes a 30- to 45-minute climb from the base of the hill where visitors typically leave their cars, and rates that climb as quite challenging, suggesting comfortable shoes and drinking water. The two figures are not identical, so treat the timing as approximate.
At the top, the falls can be viewed from three completely different vantage points, and afterwards visitors can cool off in a natural pool at the base. The source of the Aflabo river, with the fall at Agbesia, is given as Kpoeta.
The wider district context is worth knowing. The Afadzato South District is reported to hold the highest concentration of tourist sites in the Volta Region, with Aflabo Falls listed alongside Afadzato mountain, Tafi Monkey Sanctuary, Tagbo Falls and the Logba Tota caves, and the district has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ghana Tourism Authority for tourism development.
On the return from Leklebi Agbesia, visitors pass Leklebi Dafor, where there is an Immigration Office barrier, and Leklebi Kame, where a bridge forms the border between Ghana and Togo. Practical details such as entry fees, opening hours, guided rates and whether a guide is required are not established by the available sources and should be confirmed locally before travelling.
