About Mognori Eco Village

Mognori is a community-run eco-village on the edge of Mole National Park in Ghana's Savannah Region, roughly 10 km east of the park's visitor centre and near Larabanga. It is one of 33 farming communities fringing the park, lying within a five-kilometre radius of its boundary, and is listed under West Gonja District. The park's own fringe-community table groups Mognori with Murugu, Larabanga, Kananto, Kabampe, Grupe and Sehyri, and labels those districts under the older "Northern" region, reflecting the period before the Savannah Region was created.

Visits here are built around a small set of community-led activities rather than a single site. The park lists four Mognori attractions: a canoe safari, cultural dance, a community walk, and shea butter processing. Local operators describe the village tour as running about two hours and covering shea butter production and traditional medicine, with a dancing exhibition of roughly an hour and a river excursion of about an hour as additions. The canoe safari runs on the White Volta, with boats taking up to five people.

Mognori is normally visited as part of a wider Mole itinerary. The park's Mole Circuit Tour departs the Information Centre at 11:00am and lasts three hours, and the park's foot safaris, which can include Mognori, run 7am–11am and 3:30pm–5:30pm. No standalone opening hours for the village itself are published. Visits are led by a local community guide, with a Mole park guide providing security.

Activities in and around Larabanga and Mognori are arranged through LECLARA contacts rather than a dedicated Mognori village line: Mr. Seidu A. Abusco, Director, and Mr. Yakubu Ibn Ibrahim, Coordinator. Visitors planning a stop should treat Mognori as an arranged, guided visit rather than a walk-in attraction.
