About Bono Manso Waterfalls

Bono Manso Waterfalls, also called Manso Waterfalls, is a seven-metre cascade in the Bono Manso community of the Nkoranza North District, Bono East Region. It sits roughly 100 metres from the Techiman–Kintampo highway, where water falls from large rocks into a plunge pool. The district capital is Busunya, and the falls are listed among the district's attractions alongside the Boabeng-Fiema Monkey Sanctuary and the Bono Manso Slave Cave.

The site is not developed as a formal attraction, and the Nkoranza North District Assembly describes it as offering a serene natural environment with potential for eco-tourism development. Reporting notes that it is gradually becoming a popular ecotourism destination, and that until recently it served more as a holy place where Christians came to pray than as a visitor site. The same community is associated with the Bono Manso Slave Market, where enslaved people from the north were graded and sorted, and with the Ayadasuo, or magic pan.

For a visitor, the appeal is largely the setting itself: a short cascade close to a main road, in a district that also holds better-known heritage and wildlife sites. Because the falls remain undeveloped, facilities and interpretation should not be assumed.

Practical details are limited. Trip.com lists opening hours of 08:00 to 17:00, but this is a third-party listing rather than an operator or assembly confirmation. A visitor video from February 2022 reports shaded seating around the falls used to host guests for events and other activities, plus a barbecue stand, and describes the site as busy mainly on Saturdays and Sundays. These are visitor-reported observations, not operator-confirmed amenities, and they may no longer be accurate.

Access is straightforward by road: the falls lie just off the Techiman–Kintampo highway, and one visitor account describes the site as about 20 minutes from Techiman. No entrance fees, guided-tour arrangements, or safety information are confirmed in the available sources, so travellers should treat those as unknown and verify locally before setting out.
