About TNA Park, Tarkwa
TNA Park — also written TnA Stadium and officially named Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium — is a multi-use stadium in Tarkwa, in the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal District of Ghana's Western Region. Football is its primary use, and it is the home ground of Medeama Sporting Club, a Ghana Premier League side.
The venue began as a small football park with roughly 400 seats. A reconstruction funded by the Gold Fields Ghana Foundation, reported to have cost about US$16.2 million, was completed in June 2024 and turned it into a stadium with a capacity described as more than 8,000 seats, built to a standard that allows international matches to be staged there. The facility was handed over to the National Sports Authority on 16 August 2024, with the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly providing support.
Management has since changed hands. In September 2024 the Municipal Assembly announced it had taken over the stadium's management from the National Sports Authority, citing mismanagement and maintenance concerns, and set up an interim management committee running from 19 September to 31 October 2024. In 2026 Medeama SC announced that CAF had granted the stadium Category 2 approval after an inspection, making it eligible to host CAF youth and women's national team qualifying matches and preliminary-round interclub fixtures, subject to conditions that include removing seats with views obstructed by roof-support columns.
For a visitor, the practical point is that this is a working football ground rather than a general tourist attraction. Its interest lies in match days, when the stadium hosts domestic league football and, under its CAF approval, continental fixtures. The setting is the town of Tarkwa itself, in the Western Region.
Some details remain unsettled. Published capacity figures differ: the reconstruction is described as producing more than 8,000 seats, while Wikipedia lists 10,000 and also records renovation or expansion in 2010. The coordinates used here are feature coordinates for the stadium, not a confirmed visitor entrance. Opening hours, ticket arrangements, tours and accessibility provisions are not established by the available sources, so visitors should confirm arrangements locally before travelling.
