About Anyinasu Waterfall
Anyinasu Waterfall is a natural waterfall attraction at Awabre, a suburb of Anyinasu in the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality of Ghana's Ashanti Region. The Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly (ESMA) lists it as a waterfall site with community tourism, nature and recreation categories, and describes cascading water flowing all year round in aesthetic and serene surroundings. Visitors can shower under the cascades and use the site for relaxation and photography.
Accounts of the site's history differ. ESMA states the falls were first discovered in 1986 but gained notable popularity in July 2018, while a local travel video reports the site was opened to the public for tourism and recreation around 2020-2021. The site is under a Local Eco-tourism Management Team, and ESMA has recorded a resolution for the General Assembly to approve a memorandum of understanding with the Anyinasu Traditional Council on private participation in developing the falls, so management arrangements are not fully settled.
Independent visitors in July 2024 described a nice, fairly small waterfall with a sandy pool where visitors can wade and benches for sitting. They reached it by a long, bumpy motorbike or tricycle ride from Anyinasu town along paths through peanut and corn fields; a travel video reports that combining riding and walking took about one hour from the town. ESMA notes the access route to the falls requires further development for safe and convenient passage.
Anyinasu itself is connected by a well-tarred, highly motorable road and lies about 25 km from Ejura, with the falls reported at roughly two hours' drive from Kumasi. ESMA publishes opening hours of Monday to Sunday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, noting that holiday and vacation hours are communicated and adjusted accordingly. No official published entrance tariff was found; a travel creator reported GH10 per person during a March 2023 visit, charged by the local caretaker, alongside reported transport costs. No single official operator contact is published, and the caretaker and driver numbers circulating online come from travel creators and remain unverified.
